The next meeting of the UK Special Interest Group for ISO/IEC 20000 will meet on Monday 23rd April from 09.30 am at the Computacenter Offices in Hatfield. Lunch will be served during the meeting.

The Agenda for the day is detailed below:

Agenda

09.30 Arrival Tea/Coffee

10 :00 Chairman's Opening remarks (Ste Sharples)

10:15 Planning for ISO/IEC 20000 (Ralph Gray - FoxIT)
So, you think it is a good idea to get ISO/IEC 20000 certification for your organisation, but now you have to prepare a plan to achieve it, and a business case to support it. How do you go about it? How do you prepare your project plan and business case?
This presentation will give practical advice, based on real experience, of planning and justifying ISO20000 certifications. It will cover all the steps that you need to take along the way.
It will also cover the contentious issues such as securing management support and the dilemma of obtaining funding to undertake assessments, which are essential to prepare an accurate plan, which is necessary to prepare the business case to get the necessary funding.
This issue can be solved, by following a structured approach, based on strong project management principles.

11:30 Coffee Break and Networking.

11:45 Workshop/Debate - (Manisha Champaneri - Marval)

A workshop / debate to get everyone's thinking hats on. An attempt to move away from the usual presentation i.e. Planning to Implement / How to  implement / what is ISO/IEC 20000 etc but debate more towards why would we want  to implement ISO/IEC 20000.... Currently their are many publications, white papers, articles and so on around how to achieve ISO/IEC 20000 and what it's all about. As the standard is still breaking out of its shell, no one to date (as far as I can see from research) has touched upon IT service management industries aftermath of implementing the standard in a live environment, the Service Improvement Program and whether a CSIP is actually achievable as a long term objective. The workshop will be a follow on from the previous meeting when groups were split into teams to gather questions for the Service Future Groups research. This workshop will have pre-defined questions to help get the thought process going, which we will then note down everyone's views and points for distribution to the group members.

13:00 Lunch and Networking.

14:00 itSMF Update

14:15 Future direction for the Group (Ste Sharples).
To discuss with members topics and items for future inclusion, some examples are breakout sessions to consider: Requirements at all member levels, e.g those thinking about, undertaking or already certified, Training approaches, Delivering the components, The Audit process, Impact of ITIL V3

15:00 Close
